Chief Engineer - Lieutenant John Rild

If the Bridge is the brain of a starship, then Engineering is the heart. The rhythmic pulse of the matter/anti-matter reaction providing the deep base of the beat that vibrates gently through the ship.

Engine

Main Engineering, located on Deck 10 and deck 09, serves as a master control centre for the ship's warp/impulse propulsion system and other engineering systems. In the case of emergencies main Engineering can also serve as a backup control centre in the event of a failure of the Main Bridge.

The events of the Dominion war resulted in a number of compromises been taken in ship design. As a result the Katana warp propulsion system is a salvaged Intrepid core. In keeping with this fact the Engineers configured the main Engineering around this fact, giving the impression of a Intrepid Engine room. However the Warp system have been upgraded to standard Akira configuration, allowing for a maximum speed of Warp 9.8 for 12 hours.

Bellow are detailed plans of Engineering, listing the principal control consoles, and main features. Only the default settings are listed bellow, however all consoles can be customised for use, and layout as wished by the Engineering Staff.
